The Ministry of Health (MoH) is a state institution in Bulgaria responsible for achieving better health for citizens through integrated prevention, early diagnosis and effective treatment of diseases and disabilities in the country's population.
The Executive Agency for Medicinal Products is an administration under the Minister of Health, whose competences, functions and activities are laid down in three laws - the Law on Medicinal Products in Human Medicine (LMPHM), the Law on Medical Devices (LMD) and the Law on Blood, Blood Donation and Blood Transfusion (BLBT). The National Health Insurance Fund is a legal entity, which consists of a central administration - headquartered in Sofia, and district structures in each of the 28 regional centers of Bulgaria. The main objective of the NHIF is to provide and guarantee free and equitable access of insured persons to medical care - through a defined package of health care activities in terms of type, scope and volume, as well as free choice of contractor contracted with a regional health insurance fund.
